Julie Oliver

Mrs. Oliver received her undergraduate degree from Saint Paul’s College. She is working on her Master’s degree in Biotechnology at the University of Maryland University College. She worked as a histotech in Dermatopathology at New York University Medical Center and in Surgical Pathology at Beth Isreal Medical Center. She supervised and participated in laboratory projects in the Immunohistochemistry Core Facility at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

In 1995, Mrs. Oliver relocated to the Washington, D.C. area and joined the Research and Development Group at Oncor, where she worked with the team to release the company’s FDA–approved in situ hybridization kit for Her-2-neu. Later the group merged with Ventana Medical Systems and she managed the QC laboratory, which tested the molecular biology product line manufactured in the GMP facility. Mrs. Oliver established clinical FISH procedures for reciprocal translocations and aneuploidy screening using single cell human blastomeres at the Genetics and IVF Institute. She joined the GDC Lab as a histotechnologist in the summer of 2005.
