The Washington Hospital Center Gynecologic Oncology Attending Staff

Jonathan A. Cosin, M.D.

Dr. Cosin, Section Director of Gynecologic Oncology at the Washington Hospital Center, is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with subspecialty certification in Gynecology Oncology. In addition to his Directorship, Dr. Cosin is an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University, an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) and the Site Director for the Capital Area/Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program. Building on his regulatory knowledge and experience, Dr. Cosin also serves as the Chairman of the Georgetown University-MedStar Research Institute Oncology Institutional Review Board. Dr. Cosin has served as investigator for numerous federally and commercially sponsored clinical studies. He presently serves as the Principal Investigator for all Gynecology Oncology Group studies at WHC.

Dr. Cosin's research interests include gestational trophoblastic disease and cervical, vulvar, endometrial/uterine and ovarian cancer. Dr. Cosin is a frequent invited lecturer at national and international medical conferences and has published several abstracts and original reports in peer–reviewed journals. Dr. Cosin received his medical degree from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. He received fellowship training in Gynecology Oncology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Cosin is a fellow of both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of multiple specialty related organizations, including the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Clinical Oncology and the Association of Professors in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
