CDR Mildred R Chernofsky, M.D.

Dr. Mildred Chernofsky received her undergraduate degree from the University of Puerto Rico and attended medical school at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. Following completion of her residency, she received subspecialty training in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Since then, Dr. Chernofsky joined the staff of the Gynecologic Oncology Division at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) and has been clinically very active in taking care of patients with gynecologic malignancies, as well as complicated gyn surgical care. She is also the Chief of Colposcopy Services at WRAMC, directing the evaluation and treatment of patients with cervical dysplasia.

Dr. Chernofsky is also the Co-Principal Investigator for the Gynecologic Oncology Group, facilitating enrollment and participation of patients with gynecologic malignancies in nationally available research protocols. She is involved in clinical research in the areas of cervical cancer and dysplasia, as well as medical student and resident education. She holds an academic position as Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) and is a member of the USU Admissions Committee.
