Gynecologic Oncology Staff
CDR Michael Bidus, M.D.
Dr. Bidus is a third-year Gynecologic Oncology Fellow. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1990, he attended Georgetown University School of Medicine where he received his doctorate in medicine in 1994. He finished his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1998 from the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and was transferred to Yokosuka, Japan where he served as staff physician and department head of Obstetrics and Gynecology until 2000.
Dr. Bidus received his board certification in 2000 and was transferred to Bremerton Naval Hospital where he was a staff physician until 2003 when he was deployed to Rota, Spain in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was then assigned as Department Head and Director of Surgical Services at Naval Hospital Keflavik, Iceland where he remained until his transfer to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2004. After one year as a research fellow at the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health, he joined the clinical staff at Walter Reed. He has written four book chapters and numerous nationally published scientific articles on various topics related to Gynecologic Oncology and Women's Health. His research interests include Gynecologic Sarcomas and Endometrial Cancer.
