Gynecologic Oncology Staff
Col Christopher M. Zahn, M.D.
Dr. Zahn is Professor and Vice-Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USU) and is the Program Director of the Uniformed Services Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, involving active duty Army and Navy residents in the national capital area. Dr. Zahn received his medical degree from USU, and proceeded to residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, followed by a residency in Anatomic Pathology and fellowship in Gynecologic Pathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Zahn is Board-certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Anatomic Pathology. Following residency and fellowship training. Dr. Zahn served in various positions at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center, including Chief of Gynecologic Pathology and Chief of Gynecology. Dr. Zahn was then assigned to USU, with roles as Head of Continuing Education and Director of Clinical Clerkships before assuming his current position.
He has also served in several roles both within and outside USU and the medical community at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) and National Naval Medical Center (NNMC). Dr. Zahn is a member of the Executive Committee on Curriculum and the Continuing Health Education Committee at USU. He also serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Armed Forces District of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is on the editorial board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is an oral examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Zahn was a recent member of the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology Education Committee, and had previously served as the Chief Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General for Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also currently serves as a staff physician in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pathology at WRAMC in Washington, D.C. and NNMC in Bethesda, MD.
